Teacher training — French-speaking Africa

Teach first in the child's own language.

Karamɔgɔ trains teachers, facilitators and community mediators to teach reading, writing and foundational knowledge in African mother tongues, then to bridge to French.

A pedagogy rooted in research

Mother tongue first

UNESCO and the ELAN-Afrique programme show that learning to read in one's own language accelerates the acquisition of French. We train for this approach — not the transposition of the European model.

Documented L1 → L2 transfer

Convergent pedagogy, additive bilingualism, sequenced introduction of French: our tracks follow UNESCO's MTB-MLE recommendations.

Ground reality

Multigrade classrooms, large groups, scarce resources, parents who never attended school. Our content starts from what actually exists — not an idealised Western classroom.
